Rainbow Spirits in the Sky

Being Memorial Day, I wanted to take a few minutes to pay tributes of love to the memories of some of my rainbow family who have gone to the Great Spirit in the Sky. I only know a fraction of the names, so if you are reading this and you know some rainbows who have passed on, please email me at themidnightwriter1@gmail.com so I can add those names to this list.

These are some people, brothers and sisters, that inspired me greatly in my life.

Joseph Greenfeather
A brother who attended the rainbow gatherings since the beginnings in the early 1970's. Joseph volunteered at the alternative healing camps known as C.A.L.M., Center for Alternative Living Medicine. He taught me the ways of C.A.L.M. in my first year at a Rainbow Gathering in 1997 in the Ochoco National Forest in Oregon. Joseph blew the conch, a seashell at dinnertime during the gatherings. It signaled thousands to gather in the main meadow to circle, om a universal prayer, share information and to share a meal together.

Luke Clementis, a/k/a Shanti Sena Luke, Luke Skywalker
Luke was old Woodstock family in the early days in New York. His post office box was the Woodstock PO Box. Luke contributed to teaching many newbies and young folks the way of rainbow and being community. He traveled endlessly around the country in his later years attending gatherings and picking folks up on the side of the road to bring them "home". Luke brought Raven and I "home" to our first rainbow gathering in the Ochoco National Forest in Oregon 1997. Luke did a lot to promote communications for Shanti Sena at the gatherings, making sure there were radios and batteries to go around. I really miss brother Luke. In West Virginia in 2005, Luke adopted me as his daughter. I am so honored. I love this man with my soul and I cannot wait to see him again.

There are more that I will think of eventually. I will have to update this post as there is so much more to say about each one. I am pondering what to say about the last five listings, so I will come back to this. Please check back.
