Postponed Four Corners Prayer Ceremony

Hello everyone,

By now, most of my readers are wondering about the Four Corners Medicine Wheel ceremony that was planned for early May 2008. It was indefinitely postponed this year due to a sudden death in my family.

My brother in law Kenny passed away suddenly on April 13, 2008. His birthday was yesterday being young in years at 49. My husband Cephas and I left Idaho where we were working and planning the Medicine Wheel gathering and the Wyoming annual rainbow gathering.

Now we are in Willits California area helping our brother and mother get through this grievous time. Kenny's passing struck us all to our core. He is deeply missed. We need to help Mom till she is over the shock of her son's death. No mother or father should ever bury their child.

I have no idea at this time what to say about rearranging this prayer Medicine Wheel gathering. The Great Spirit called me to come to California ten days before Kenny's passing so we could help prepare Mom for this. She was in strict denial and who can blame her. Kenny passed away a week after our arrival to California. We have been assisting with Mom's home and Kenny's apartment, daughter and belongings.

There is one idea that occurred to me about the Four Corners gathering. Traditional Native Americans and Indigenous Elders gathered at a location in New Mexico and a medicine wheel was built through sacred prayer and fasting. Go to this location and fast and pray for four days. Offer the prayers of the nation and the world upon this sacred Medicine Wheel or build another in the vicinity. Do not disrupt the first one or take any objects. Let the Native Elders know that you are coming there to pray. They may want to meet you there. Dedicate the new medicine wheel and let the elders know of its location, should you decide to build one.

Let me know on this website or by email if you are making a prayer vigil to the Four Corners this spring or summer and please give me permission to write about it on this website.

I will be there with you in the spirit as you pray.

The locations of these sacred sites can be found by doing an internet search.
